Range Roaming – Wyoming 2013 – Days 61-68

Holiday with Mom in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks: Off the bike June 14-21

Friday June 14, 2013

I travel with my Mom for a week – taking in Yellowstone and the Tetons with her by car, spending the nights in motels and cabins. We do a heap of hiking. I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like since I live overseas, so I highly value our time together. As my parents get older, I also really value our time out hiking, since I know our time together in the future won’t always be this active. Here are some photo highlights of our time in the national parks.

Steamboat Geyser.
It’s always a little dangerous to tell Verne and Kermit: “Hey, go over there and pose in the flowers”.
Norris Geyser Basin
We are here on 6/17…. though luckily we do not see any bears.
Cascade Canyon is a gorgeous and gentle hike. Take the boat across Jenny Lake and go as short or long as you like. We get to about 1.5 miles from Solitude Lake before we turn around. We do about 12 miles return, which is a really long day for my Mom these days. She prefers to only do around 8 miles.
Just goofing around.
Oh Verne, so you do have a soft side.
Kermit loved the boat ride across Jenny Lake.
Colter Bay, Tetons.

Sunbaking at Leigh Lake.
